EMERGENCY - FIRES IN ISRAEL

As many of you know, I serve as the Outreach Chair for Jewish National Fund’s JNFuture Chicago Board. Please read this timely message below written by JNF’s Assaf Grumberg:

Wildfires are sweeping across communities in Jerusalem, in the North, and beyond.  Firefighting teams are doing everything they can to contain the flames, but the situation is serious and growing more dangerous by the hour.  This is a race against time.  Fire fighters need immediate support - additional trucks, fuel, supplies, and emergency gear - to protect lives and stop the spread.

As the official U.S. fundraising arm of Israel's Fire and Rescue Authority, Jewish National Fund-USA is calling on our community to take action.  Thanks to our incredible supporters, JNF-USA has already made a monumental impact by

• Delivering more than 300 fire trucks and emergency response vehicles

• Building and equipping many fire stations across Israel, especially in high risk areas

• Supplying personal protective gear, thermal drones, and live-saving technology

These resources are actively saving lives today in this very emergency.  But we cannot stop now. The fires haven't.

We need your help!  This crisis is unfolding during a powerful moment on the Israeli calendar - Yom Hazikaron, when we honor Israel's fallen soldiers and victims of terror, and the eve of Yom HaAtzmaut, Israel's Independence Day.  It's a time when we reflect on sacrifice, resilience, and the cost of freedom.  And it's a reminder that those who protect Israel, its firefighters, police, and emergency responders, deserve our support now more than ever.
